We seek to create a relaxing and energizing space away from the chaos of white supremacy and capitalism for Black artists, practitioners, and activists. Choose between three breakout room workshops with one of our micro-grantees who will lead you through a care practice: Omolara Williams McCallister (Washington, D.C.), Kevin Lee-Y Green of Techmoja Dance and Theatre Company (Wilmington, NC), or Danielle East (Lubbock, TX). The workshops are free and open to people of all ages and abilities.
About the Stations:
Omolara Williams McCallister, “Emotional Safety Planning”
Omolara will teach participants how to identify and access strategies for healing, and lead participants through building their own emotional safety kits.
Danielle East, "Melanated Magic: Healing during Times of Intergenerational Trauma"
Danielle will focus on intergenerational trauma and healing from it, leading participants in an open-ended discussion.
Kevin Lee-Y Green of Techmoja Dance and Theatre Company, “Loud As We Want”
Kevin will lead participants through a session of self-reflection and emotional relief through movement.
Be sure to RSVP soon, space is limited! Attendees must select which workshop they wish to attend and can only go to the one they choose. To register go here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/community-care-space-station-registration-127352455623
